ROSEFIELD AVENUE LANE

Planning Consent and Building Warrant Applications; Construction Completion.

Located in Portobello’s conservation area in Edinburgh, this two bedroomed upper villa received an attic conversion to create a third master bedroom and office suite.

Working within the Tenement Act, the client wished to explore expanding into the roof and the solution was to create two large box dormers front to back with a third room below.  In upgrading the roof constructions, the flat’s footprint could be duplicated within the roof space as accommodation.

A new internal staircase links the attic floor which houses the master bedroom with south facing roof window and a new office/working space.

Anthracite Zinc clads the dormers and the design utilises angled, spayed ingoes to maximise light but minimises the depth of construction, a more elegant profile.
