Clare handled the design with great care and felt a modern, simple and elegant design with great detailing would work beautifully in the space and she was right. She paid great attention to the scale, making many drawings and brilliant scale models to ensure the proportions and design of the inserted meeting room/mezzanine and staircase would suit the space architecturally. We sourced a building contractor together and Clare’s experience proved very valuable. It was a long process with several hurdles along the way but she was very patient and professional. My wife and I engaged Clare Slifer Architects to manage the design and refurbishment of our new Edinburgh flat, which we had bought in a dilapidated, uninhabitable state.
Completely reconfiguring the layout, Clare handled the process through warrant, created full tender and construction contract documents and secured an excellent builder. She project managed everything down to the order and supply of all fittings and fixtures.
The works themselves were tricky but Clare managed them very effectively. We were not able to visit because of lockdown but Clare took on every issue with good grace and professionalism.
