FILLYSIDE TERRACE

Planning Consent and Building Warrant Applications; pending construction.

Located in the Craigentinny Ward of Edinburgh, this 2 bedroomed semi-detached bungalow from the 1930s was in need of a complete renovation.

Extending to the rear and creating an open plan living/kitchen/dining area allowed a third bedroom and two new bathrooms within the existing footprint.  The clever rearrangement of entry creates distinct public/private zones to the house.

The extension is a single volume offset from the existing house footprint.  The roof matches the existing roof hip and pitch to create a dramatic, light filled space below the large roof window with a simpler flat roofed volume to the side.

Clad in Scottish Larch with contrasting render to match the existing, the roof is finished in a silver grey zinc.

Large sliding doors open to the new South facing patio area with views to Arthur’s Seat.
